Meeting Christ
in the Scriptures

Fr. Alberione the founder of the Society of St. Paul and the Pauline family, insisted that the inspired word of God should always be at the heart of a person's spiritual reading. In the scriptures the living word of God, Jesus, speaks directly to the human heart, mind and soul. The scriptures should be studied, reflected upon and applied to life.

"In Sacred Scripture, the Church constantly finds her nourishment and her strength, for she welcomes it not as a human word, 'but as what it really is, the word of God.' In the sacred books, the Father who is in heaven comes lovingly to meet his children, and talks with them."
