A Respect for Freedom and a Rigorous Professional Ethical Code

"Paulines are to observe a rigorous professional code of ethics in the carrying out of their particular apostolate (media ministry). They are to respect the freedom of readers, viewers and listeners, to steer clear of undue forms of pressure and the manipulation of truth. Theirs is to be a fraternal and impartial service, a service that repulses the temptation to tranform these formidable media into instruments of power."

Constitutions of the Society of St. Paul art 75.

A responsible use of Media:

"All who, of their own free choice, make use of communications as readers, viewers, or listeners have special obligations. For a proper choice demands that they fully favor those presentations, that are outstanding for their moral goodness, their knowledge and their artistic or technical merit."

Vatican II's Decree on the Media of Social Communications" Par 9.
