Fr. Benedict Groeschel, CFR, EdD. is a Franciscan Friar of the Renewal and a clinical psychologist, spiritual writer and director, and is the Director of Spiritual Development for the Archdiocese of New York. He was appointed promoter of the cause of Cardinal Cooke in 1985 by John Cardinal O'Connor. In April of 1987 Father Benedict, along with eight other friars, began the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal to work for personal and ecclesial reform. He is the author of several books, and can be heard on numerous audio-cassette programs presented by Alba House Communications and other publishers.
