Lawrence Boadt, CSP was ordained a priest with the Paulist Fathers in 1969 after finishing his college education at their major seminary. He completed the Master of Arts in Religious Studies at St. Paul's College, Washington, D.C.; a Licentiate in Sacred Theology and Master of Arts in Semitic Languages from the Catholic University of America; and a Licentiate and Doctorate in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. Fr. Boadt has taught in the Theology Department of Fordham University and at St. John's University, and is emeritus professor of Scripture Studies at the Washington Theological Union. He is the author of several books on Old Testament Scriptures, liturgy, and preaching, and has contributed to both the New Jerome Biblical Commentary and Anchor Bible Dictionary. Fr.
