Constance Fitzgerald looks at interpretation using hermeneuctics, exegesis, eisegesis, along with personal and communal interpretation. She outlines our role as potential interpreters, how we use the interpretive process to dialogue between the text and our life experience.
 
Sister Constance Fitzgerald, a member of the Carmelite Sisters of Baltimore, earned her Doctorate of Humane Studies from Notre Dame of Maryland. She has been Prioress, Director of Formation, and taught at St, Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana and Washington Theological Union, Washington, DC and lectured throughout the U.S., Philippines, and Hong Kong. Sr. Constance is best known for her work on and interpretation of John of the Cross and Teresa of Avila, particularly the interpretations of the Dark Night in relation to contemporary life and society. She has published in book and audio-cassette form.
