New American Bible. The Good News Bible The Good News Bible, first published in 1976 and revised in 1994, was translated into a simple, everyday language so that everyone could appreciate it - regardless of age or background At the heart of the Good News Bible was the aim to be accurate and faithful to the meaning found in the original Greek and Hebrew Scriptures. Translators therefore used the recognised principle of dynamic equivalence - where the translation expressed the meaning of the original text by using its everyday English equivalent. The current edition uses inclusive language. The translators have produced a very readable translation but the text lacks extensive footnotes.
