This revised and expanded second edition of Father Kereszty's widely used Christology text is equipped with recommended readings, study questions and updated bibliography. In dialogue with contemporary concerns and controversies, it presents a penetrating and integral approach to the mystery of Christ, with broad appeal to Roman Catholics, Protestants and Orthodox Christians alike. In it they will find an articulation of their common faith in Jesus, the Christ, true God and true man. Though written as a Christology textbook on the graduate level, the book should interest any educated reader who seeks to know Jesus. "It is that rare textbook in theology that is written in a contemplative spirit and that induces to prayer. If I had to teach Christology, yours would be the book." --Louis Dupré, Yale University. Alternate Selection, March 2003, Bookviews, Theological Book Service, Barnhart, MO

Reviews

"Roch Kereszty is adjunct professor of theology at the University of Dallas, chair of the theology department at Cistercian Preparatory School, and novice master at the Cistercian Abbey of Our Lady of Dallas. This book, originally for graduate students, attracted a much wider audience and now appears in a new edition. In three parts he treats New Testament, historical and systematic christology. An appendix discusses the relationship between anthropology and christology. For each chapter a reader's guide annotates recommended books and provides study questions." --W. Charles Heiser, S.J. in Theology Digest Book Survey, Spring 2003

"This book is alive and exciting. While reading it, I was aware of the impact that it would have made on my preaching and teaching had it been a text studied in the seminary" --P. MacCarthy in Homiletic and Pastoral Review

"In controversial issues it chooses, as a rule, the most solid and enlightening views" --Renwart in Nouvelle Revue Théologique

"For the reader who is overwhelmed by the plurality of methods, philosophical presuppositions, and critical hermeneutical perspectives that characterize contemporary theology, the kind of synthesis this book achieves is profoundly encouraging." --Sara Butler, Mundelein Seminary
