As members of the "Body of Christ," Christians must also put on the "mind of Christ." And it is the purpose of this book to "re-mind" us of the centrality of the cross in human life and its relevance for followers of Jesus. Each of the three sections of this work contains twelve reflections meant to enlighten both mind and heart. The vertical arm of the cross, The Way of Faith, reflects on the mystery of the divinity and our relationship to God. The horizontal arm of the cross, The Way of Love deals with the mystery of humanity and our relationship with others. The center of the cross, The Way--Jesus dwells on the mystery of Christ and our relationship with Him. Each of these sections is like the stone David prepared for battle with Goliath: aimed at the head, but meant for the heart. |

James Hogan has been teaching Catholic theology for the past twenty
years, most recently at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He has a Master's Degree in
Religious Education from John Carroll University and has written nine workbooks and several
articles on various theological topics for high school students and young adults. He and his wife
Colleen have four children -- Clare, Kate, Erin and Thomas. This is his first book for Alba House.
